In this installment of medical billing of claims electronically with NSF 3 / 01 specifications, we will continue our review of the record EA1, pick up with field number 14
EA1 Field 14, positions 177 to 184, the approval date 2 area. This date must be filled in when the patient returned to the hospital or facility for any reason whatsoever in connection with the condition into account, even if it is only as a follow-up.
EA1 Field 15, position 185 - 192, the discharge is Day 2 field. This date must be filled if the patient is discharged, and then again for whatever reason in connection with the condition into account, even if it is only as a follow-up. If the patient again, but still not done, then this field is left blank.
EA1 Field 16, position 193 - 207, is monitoring the vendor ID. This is the ID number of the suppliers control, when there is a doctor to monitor the actual implementation of services. This is usually the administrator of the hospital or facility, but can be any supervision.
EA1 Field 17, position 208 - 222, is reserved for future use. The length of this field indicates that the majority of cases, for an ID number of an Art
EA1 Fields 18-20, position 223 - 255, are monitoring the provider fields for the first, last and first middle. This is the legal name as in the establishment.
EA1 Field 21, positions 256 to 257, the monitoring of vendor code. This is a two characters, showing the kind of monitoring of the provider that it is. Consult your manual for a list of valid codes.
EA1 Fields 22-24, position 258 - 290, the EMT or paramedic last, first and middle first. This must be completed if the patient was in the facility in an emergency and was treated by an EMT or paramedic on the way there.
EA1 Field 25, positions 291 to 298, the timing assumption of care. This is the day on which the permanent care of the patient started if this is the case. This is usually the time then a patient in a nursing home as a nursing home.
EA1 Fields 26-29, positions 299 to 318, additional diagnosis code fields. Normally there are only three or four diagnostic codes, for the right to send a payment. But with the increased number of diseases and conditions and factors, the problems of patients, it has become necessary for more fields for the transmission of additional codes. These four areas are rarely used.
EA1 Field 30, position 319 - 320, is filler national and must be left blank or the claim will be denied.
