If you thought it was safe, come out of the bunker now, that our review of the GX0 recording ends, you can crawl back in. We are not entirely with our oxygen payroll check for the medical billing in general . In this installment we begin our review of the narrative record, the GX1 record.
The GX1 record only 7 fields in it. You would therefore think that there is simply no way to screw this record. And yet there are more problems with the GX1 record and denials than GX0 be. The reason is that the majority of the fields are not just one or two-character answers. Most narrative answers are too long and this one. When you combine that with the fact that unfortunately many biller as a mother tongue other than English, this leads to a number of problems. Adequate training in narrative explanation is of crucial importance to these demands by the carrier.
GX1 field 1, positions 1 a.m. to 3 p.m., the record type. This field shows the carrier, which is the recording that must be transferred and with GX1 or the claim is rejected.
GX1 line 2, position 4-5, the serial number. Since there are so many up to 99 rows with each story entitled, a serial number for each record GX1. These are known as GX1-01, GX1-02 and so on. These can not be inferred from the sequence or the claim is rejected. The GX1 records must be GX0.
GX1 field 3, positions 6-22, the patient control number. This is the same number, the patient ID in the Ca0 record and all subsequent records with information for the patient. This number must match the Ca0 or the claim is rejected.
GX1 field 4, position 23 - 112, is the story of test results. This field shows the carrier, if the oxygen-tests that were carried out under unusual circumstances. This can only be about something, from where the tests were performed to how they were implemented. Also an explanation of how these were interpreted, is also needed if the ordinary.
GX1 field 5, positions 113 to 202, has additional medical findings. This is another area in which the narrative of the carrier, said additional medical evidence to justify the patient on oxygen. This is necessary because oxygen is highly regulated and the carrier is required to absolutely sure that the patient is indeed in need of oxygen therapy. This is particularly necessary when the PO2 is 60 mm Hg or higher and oxygen saturation over 90 percent. The reason is because in these cases, oxygen is rarely required.
GX1 field 6, positions 203 to 292, the exercise routine narrative. This field shows the carrier each exercise that the patient has to do that he needed a portable oxygen system.
GX1 field 7, position 292 - 320, is filler national and must be filled with blanks.
This is our review of the GX1 record for medical billing.
