In this installment of medical billing, based on the practice of sending information electronically, we will be heading for more detail. The recording is the inclusion of FB1, the very specific details in relation to the providers of services.
If you take a look at the FB1 record, you will notice that the entire record, the sending of data for the different providers of services, the ordering provider, supplier, so that providers and monitoring. Since all information for each provider is the same as the name and UPIN numbers, as well as the patient ID for the claim that we are not at this in detail. Instead, we will explain why this information must be sent. This gives you a clear understanding of the procedures that deal with a claim processed and approved.
As in the United States Government, the medical profession has a number of controls introduced to prevent not only fraud, but fraud and criminal negligence. As much as we do not want to admit that these problems exist, they do indeed exist, and this control is more difficult for these things to go without punishment by law.
In a previous article we explain the difference between the four sellers. The rendering provider is the one who actually provide services, the supervising office provider is one who watches over the rendering provider, usually the administrator the possibility to the referring provider refers the patient on the one hand, the study and finally the appointment of suppliers, orders, or more precisely okays the work that needs to be done. In some cases, this is the same as the rendering provider, but in many cases it is a different person. This is when the checks and balances come in.
In order for a patient, their way onto the rendering provider, they must have a referral. Most providers do not even see you unless you have a referral. Why? Because this way there is a second person to ensure that they believe that the patient must work to be done. In this way, if problems occur, the rendering provider has the original referral.
Well, before the work can be done in most cases another provider as a consultant and come take a look at the patient, perhaps even an exam and make sure that the work must be done. This is a test, and balance. In this way, the rendering provider has a backup to testify, if need be, that they believed the work was necessary. A reputable doctor will not in order, especially when they know that their information will be transferred in relation to this allegation.
Then, and finally we have the monitoring of service providers, overseeing all of these to ensure that everyone is doing what they supposedly do. This is a test, and the balance and this person also has their information to the requestor.
In the event that something goes wrong with the procedure or treatment, all these people be held accountable. That is the reason why the system works and that is the reason why this information. It fits nicely and neatly into the FB1 record.
In our next installment of medical billing, we will be the last line detail record, the record FB2.
