Description
Hypoglycaemia is a condition that results when blood sugar levels are low. The body's cells, especially in the brain, a steady, consistent supply of sugar from the blood to work correctly. After eating, blood sugar levels normally rise as food is digested. The pancreas releases insulin, which transports the sugar from the blood into body cells. As blood sugar levels fall, insulin levels subside, and stored sugar from the liver into the bloodstream.
Even if they do not eat, most people have a relatively constant blood sugar level, somewhere between 60 to 100 milligrams per deciliter of blood. In a small number of people, but this mechanism for the transport of blood glucose does not work properly and blood sugar levels fall too low. To compensate, the body releases adrenaline, which in turn the release of sugar from the liver, but also lead to rapid heartbeat, sweating, tremors and other symptoms.
